The following steps per country needs to be taken:
1) which ISP's/hosting companies claim to be green?
2) Have they made their (mandatory) green energy certificate publicly available?
Per country a list is made of ISP's & Hosting Companies that claim to be green.
There are two ways to become a sustainable provider:
1) switch to sustainable energy
2) compensate the CO2 production by buying CO2-credits or planting trees.
Cleanbits.org has just started, but is gaining momentum fast - thanks to publications by weblogs and traditional media. We are still looking for country coordinators & volunteers for the following list of country domains:

Nobody could have guessed that the work of basically one man around 1990 would have such an enormous impact on the way we think about the information age today. Tim Berners-Lee gave us something that has developed and grown in such a way, that is almost impossible to describe what really happened, because of the very diverse nature of the use of the Internet today. The WWW brought the Internet within reach for non-programmers like I am, and in such a way that I even can contribute without understanding much about what's underneath.
